Specimen Requirements

  • 2x3 ml EDTA blood

  • 3 ml EDTA plasma

  • 5 days

CD4 Count and Haemoglobin Concentration Assay
 

  • Direct enumeration of CD4 absolute count and percentage

  • Used in evaluation of immune status of individual diagnosed with, or suspected of developing immune deficiencies (eg: HIV)

  • 3 ml EDTA blood

Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Viral Load

Specimen Requirements

  • 2x3 ml EDTA blood

  • 3 ml EDTA plasma

  • 5 days

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Viral Load

Specimen Requirements

  • 2x3 ml EDTA blood

  • 2 ml EDTA plasma
     

LAT (Laboratory turnaround time)

  • 4 days
